Goodroad is the premier professional entertainment group in Sioux Falls, SD. Having shared the stage with Jon Pardi, Mitchell Tenpenny, LoCash, Josh Turner, Sister Hazel, Cheap Trick, and rock legends, Heart at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.

Where can you find Goodroad? On any given weekend, Goodroad is packing the house in Sioux Falls at Shenanigans, Icon, Wileys and various venues throughout the region. Traveling from Sioux Falls to the Black Hills, the Twin Cities, Lincoln, NE and even as far as LaCross, WI. They’re a favorite at The District, performing at many corporate events, various holiday parties and weddings.
The unique experience and instrumentation allows the band to provide both ceremony music and keep the reception dance floor packed all night long!
What can you expect? A one-of-a-kind show. These professional musicians communicate on the fly which makes each performance unique. You can catch professional guitar instructor, Micah Wetzel, playing and singing Summer of ’69 or Ants Marching. Or Dr. Hanegan, saxy saxophone player, jamming to Shut up and Dance. You may get to hear bass player, Jordan Ochocki, rapping to Vanilla Ice or even play The Devil Went Down to Georgia on the fiddle. Their style allows them to play songs from a wide range of artists to include DNCE, Eric Church, Dave Matthews, Metallica, Maroon 5, Jon Pardi, Florida Georgia Line, Bon Jovi, Rascal Flatts, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Justin Beiber, and every so often, Taylor Swift.

Dr. Brian Hanegan is Professor of Jazz Studies at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. Brian grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Roosevelt High. He then attended Northern University in Aberdeen while working summers for Carnival Cruise Line and Valley Fair. Brian obtained his Masters from The University of South Dakota and finally his PhD from North Dakota State University. Brian leads the horn section of Goodroad bringing his years of performance experience and unique arrangements to the group. Brian enjoys spending his free time performing all over Sioux Falls with various jazz groups and spending time with his girlfriend Lynn, an elementary school teacher.
Jordan Ochocki is an IT professional in Sioux Falls where he lives with his amazing wife Miranda, Executive Director of the Museum of Visual Materials, and their son Caleb. Jordan graduated from Roosevelt High in Sioux Falls and then attended South Dakota State University. Jordan is the musical foundation in Goodroad using his All-State musicianship on Saxophone and Violin, college jazz band experience on bass, and drum experience in the Pride of the Dakotas drum line at SDSU. Jordan also spend a number of years in production running sound for national artists like Blake Shelton, Neil McCoy, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and many more. Jordan also leads Morning Star, a contemporary worship band at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. Jordan spends his free time outdoors hunting, golfing and playing with Caleb.
Kyle Maurer is a Mechanical Engineer for Dakotronics in Brookings, SD. Kyle grew up in Madison, SD and attended South Dakota State University. Kyle played drums all through college and joined Goodroad in 2009, the Copper years. Kyle spends his free time over analyzing simple problems and chasing his 2 beautiful boys around. His wife Sarah is an OT at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls.
Allen Goodroad is a Sales Engineer for a healthcare communications company in Sioux Falls, SD. Allen graduated from Roosevelt High and then from The University of South Dakota. Allen began performing in college and spent 3 years at St. Michael’s Catholic Church leading music at the 6pm service as well as announcing the Catfish Bay Waterski Show. He started Goodroad in 2006 with their debut album Lonely Trip. Allen and his wife Andrea, a nurse at Sanford Health, enjoy traveling around the country and creating wooden masterpieces in their garage.
Dr. Erik Mahon is Professor of Trumpet at Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. Erik grew up outside of Minneapolis, MN. He attended Gustavous Adolphus College for his undergrad, The University Of South Dakota for his Masters, and Kansas University for his PhD. Erik spent his college summers performing on various cruise ships around the world. He brings this unique performance aspect to the band and creates many of the unique horn arrangements that Goodroad is known for. Erik spends his free time driving back and fourth between Minneapolis and Lawrence, Kansas.
Micah Wetzel is owner of Amari Studios in Sioux Falls, SD. Micah grew up and graduated in Rochester, MN and then South Dakota State University. Micah teaches guitar lessons full time to adults and children from 6 years old on up. He bagan playing with Goodroad in 2009, the Copper Years, and has been along for all but 4 performances in 10 years. Micah and his wife Tanya, an elementary school teacher, recently welcomed their 3rd child in 2018. In his free time, Micah enjoys golf and his top 10 world ranking in Madden Football.
